BADAGRY, LAGOS — When people speak of public service, few embody the calling quite like Pastor Samuel Femi Kevin, popularly known as Capable. A native of Delta State, Kevin was born on Lagos Island and spent his formative years between Festac Town and Badagry. Today, he stands out not only as a spiritual leader but also as a committed community officer someone whose life journey is marked by quiet resilience, deep faith, and a fierce devotion to truth.

Though his childhood dreams pointed elsewhere, Kevin has found meaning and fulfillment in his current path. “I may not be doing what I originally planned,” he said, “but I am fully in alignment with purpose. I serve the people both in the church and in the community and it brings me great joy.”

His turning point came in Junior Secondary School 3, when a teacher wrongly accused and slapped him for something he didn’t do. Too timid to defend himself at the time, the incident lingered in his memory and sparked a personal transformation. “That experience woke something up in me,” he recalled. “It pushed me to start working on my confidence and taught me the importance of standing up for what’s right.”

Now, decades later, those early lessons remain central to his identity. His calling as a pastor doesn’t feel forced, he explains it flows naturally. “It’s who I am. It comes without stress,” he said, quoting from scripture, “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Unlike many, Pastor Kevin doesn’t look to public figures for inspiration. His gaze is firmly fixed on his faith. “I have no role models,” he said. “I look unto Jesus Christ and I listen to the Holy Spirit.”

To young people and future leaders, his message is as practical as it is spiritual:
“The world will always expect a lot from you, but be truthful in all things. Truth will keep you free. It will give you peace.”

From the pulpit to the public square, Pastor Samuel Femi Kevin continues to serve with grace and conviction. His life stands as a quiet but powerful reminder that integrity and purpose can still lead the way even in today’s complex world.
