The Root Gazette Africa

Can we meet you Sir?

Am Prince Samuel Adeniran Omotayo from kweme kingdom badagry west LCDA, Lagos Nigeria.

Can you reflect on a pivotal moment from your past experiences that shaped your commitment to societal betterment, and how has it influenced your present endeavors?

I was born in THOGBO ROYAL FAMILY IN KWEME KINGDOM, Dansu Omotayo Ogede family. I grew up in Kweme Sea Beach today known as Seme.

I started my academic journey at uncle pet nursery and primary school at Seme Badagry West lcda lagos Nigeria and secondary school at Badagry Grammar School (SSCE ) before proceeding to Federal Polytechnic Offa Kwara State ( ND COMPUTER SCIENCE) and then ECOTES university for my first degree (BSC COMPUTER SCIENCE) Benin 🇧🇯 republic, second degree at university of Portsmouth united Kingdom 🇬🇧 (MSc project management for construction).

I have been politically active from 2011 from AC,ACN AND APC. I was one of the forefront Youths that fought for the restoration of 15 years of total black out of electricity in Seme border axis 2013 and 2014 struggles. Myself and Comr. shamonda brought NULASS(National union of Lagos state students) to Offa Poly kwara state in 2012. I have my personal human capacity development program (Education Empowerment and fundraising support programs for people in my community).

I am the founder of KWEME DESCENDANT UNION (This is a body that unites every indigenous people of kweme kingdom from home and abroad under a united body to work for the development of kweme kingdom) e.t.c .

My influence has united my people in badagry west positively and my kingdom kweme kingdom has given them a new ideology to seek what we can all do together for ourselves rather than waiting for government or outsider to do for us.

My vision is to change the narration of my people in Badagry to take over the economy and developmental advantages of badagry to badagrian so that we can be able to take our leadership position at the sit of lagos, Nigeria and Africa development leading positions.

As a prominent figure, what challenges have you encountered along your journey towards making a positive impact on society, and how have you overcome them?

We have both internal and external challenges.

Internal challenges: this is a challenge where badagrian work against badagry due to some few people's selfish interest . The way I was able to overcome this is to keep consulting, confronting and working so hard to protect our common interest in badagry where the three local Government can have a fair and just share balance of power and development dividend.

External challenges: I feel external challenges when I see the way badagry is far behind to have a fair share of power balance and development compared to other areas and divisions in Lagos and ancient cities in Nigeria . Like our sea port, transportation channels (road, trains, water stations and airport). Am trying to overcome this by working closely with the government for their good job well done in other areas and keep encouraging them to remember badagry in the Lagos state development plans.

Could you share with us a recent project or initiative you're particularly proud of, and how it aligns with your vision for the future.

The only project that aligns with the vision of what I want for badagry is only the sea port . This aligned with my visions because it will add value to our lands and will give a high economic exposure to our people and it will create more billions in badagry and Badagrian can be able to have more eye opener about how the global and local economy works

What advice would you offer to individuals looking to emulate your dedication to societal progress and community engagement?

My advice for Badagrians is to believe in badagry and take badagry first , sincerely work for our common interest , let's go into agriculture business, infrastructure business, and industrial business and more investment and other developmental programs to badagry to build a greater badagry.

Looking ahead, what are your aspirations and goals for furthering your contributions to society, and how do you envision achieving them?

Making my business investment in badagry and bringing more investors and serving my people if the opportunity arises.
